My job in the creative process of the German children’s film ‘Das Märchen von der Prinzessin, die unbedingt in einem Märchen vorkommen wollte' (The fairytale of the princess, who absolutely wanted to be in a fairytale), which was a production of FR Entertainment in Co-Production with the Bavarian Broadcasting, included the Main Title Design.
During the studies for my master’s degree at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, I was an Art Director for this film project. Apart from the Title Design, I was also involved in creating the Title Design and several props for the film.
The concept of the front credit sequence was to introduce the fairytale to the children by flying through clouds and fairytale cloud forms.
The Main Title animation should match to the front credit animation, so that the title appears through the clouds while some twines are growing on some of the letters.
The end credits should fit to the fairytale book and the decorated pages, so the names and the roles appear on a sepia-brown paper-background, combined with decorations. There are also twines growing on some of the letters, which hints to the Main Title Animation. The scrolling movie credits at the end of the movie are also on a sepia-brown background, and the chapters are separated by an abstract illustration of the family crest.
